Welcome to our Sixth Form (16+ years)

We believe the Sixth Form at Windermere St Anne's to be utterly unique! Located in its own purpose-built accommodation on the school's picturesque Lakeland campus, students benefit from a truly inspirational setting for study, leisure and self-discovery.

Focus is very much on academic achievement; our students are drawn from a board ability range, yet all go on to Higher Education. With this in mind, WSA now delivers the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, a broad-based course of study that fosters a dynamic, outward-looking approach to learning. At WSA, students are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their learning and development so that they leave ready for the challenges that lie ahead

Students who progress from the main school to WSA's Sixth Form will already have acquired a good degree of independence. Those who join us fresh from studies elsewhere are quick to respond to the school's commitment to personal and academic development and soon come to appreciate the unparalleled advantages of WSA's distinctive environment.

Most WSA Sixth Formers come here to prepare in earnest for university, to study and grown and to set goals for the future. Teachers effectively become tutors, facilitating group and individual learning programme's and skillfully supporting students to gradually take responsibility for their own progress.

The Sixth Form as a whole is divided into tutor groups comprising Year 12 and Year 13 cohorts. Students meet with their tutor on a daily basis and their work is overseen by the Head of Sixth Form who also liaises with House staff on pastoral and social matters.
