Curriculum
The broad curriculum offered at Windermere St Anne's reflects the belief that students should be exposed to as many opportunities as possible and leave the school as well-rounded individuals.
Recognition that learning and communication skills are as important as subject content underpin the way the curriculum is delivered.
The National Curriculum is followed at all levels although at Years 7 to 9 we introduce more breadth and tailor its delivery to the needs of our students.
Age 11 – 14 years
Age 14 – 16 years (GCSEs)
Age 16 – 18 (IB Diploma)
Age 14 - 16 (GCSEs)
In Years 10 and 11 all students take five core GCSE subjects:
- English Language
- English Literature
- Mathematics
- Biology
- Chemistry
A short course GCSE in Religion and Ethics is also compulsory.
In addition, pupils are able to choose one subject from each of the five option blocks.
The options for Year 10 students for September 2007 are as follows:
Block A French, German, Spanish
Block B Geography, History, History / Geography
Block C Art, Design, Drama, PE
Block D French, Physics, PE
Block E Home Economics, IT, Latin, Music
All students follow a programme of:
- Citizenship
- ICT
- Physical Education
