The School was last inspected by OFSTED in 2002. The Main Findings were as follows:

"Elleray, the junior school, and Windermere St Anne's School, the senior school, are schools with many strengths and no significant weaknesses.

The quality of teaching and learning is mainly good or very good, behaviour is excellent, pupils enjoy their work, achieve high standards, and are proud of their school. The policies for the pupils' pastoral support, guidance and welfare for both day pupils and boarders are effective and both parts of the school are well managed. Pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their education. The school needs to reconsider its long-term development plans and make sure that the junior school has a properly maintained admissions register and that the senior school's attendance registers conform to statutory requirements."
