Introduction to our Junior Department at Elleray
The focus in the Junior Department is to deliver a broad and challenging education. Each pupil receives encouragement and support to aim for the highest standards of work, individually and within a team environment.
Elleray is a centre of academic excellence and gives your child a head start in life. All our Form Tutors are specialist primary teachers and their skill and experience ensure a good understanding of the core learning necessary for real academic progress. The majority of pupils achieve results well above the national average in Standard Attainment Tests at age seven and eleven.
Creative and Performing Arts are close to our hearts. Music is a real strength and taught in a well-resourced, dedicated classroom. Our choir and instrumental groups perform to a very high standard and children have the opportunity to learn individual instruments through specialist tuition.
French is taught to all junior pupils (there is an optional French club for infants). Pupils benefit from specialist teaching in areas of the curriculum including Music, French, and Physical Education.
