Introduction to our Infant Department at Elleray

Our philosophy in the Infant Department extends beyond the classroom to a desire to develop the whole child – morally, individually and spiritually.

The school recognises that every child is unique and the caring environment we foster allows each child to reach their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom.

Within the classroom, our dynamic teaching staff are able to go beyond the National Curriculum and develop aspects in greater depth.

Infant pupils are taught by their form teacher with the addition of specialist support for music and physical education. Small classes ensure that pupils will form close and secure relationships and will enjoy learning.

An important aspect of an infant education is the encouragement of the values of independence, kindness, perseverance and above all, a team spirit. Family involvement is also vital in a young child's education and teachers maintain close links with parents.

Children at Elleray surprise themselves with what they can achieve.
