Early Years (3-5 years)

Elleray's Early Years team is committed to providing quality learning experiences for children aged 3 to 5 years. To this end, the curriculum is rooted in a practical learning-through-play approach that is structured and balanced, as well as being relevant to each individual child and to the world around us.

With the benefit of three large rooms at our disposal, we are able to offer a wide programme of activities that takes into account each individual child's developmental needs and allows them to make progress related to their differing abilities. 'What the child can do' is always our starting point.

Each room has access to the Pre-School garden where children can thrive in the natural environment and explore the world of imagination, creation and fantasy overlooking the beautiful Lake Windermere.

Children can join us in the term of their third birthday (we accept nursery entitlement vouchers) and begin a journey of discovery that encompasses a wide range of experiences: from music-making to plum-picking in our own orchard; watching - and painting - the newborn lambs in the adjacent meadow; writing their own name for the first time; or performing in our Christmas nativity play.
